Day 50

Monday, December 22, 2008
This morning I ran seven miles on my treadmill. It has been snowing like crazy, so all of my running has been indoors lately-which is good because it’s really warm inside and will help me get ready for the warm Maui climate.

Day 49

Sunday, December 21, 2008
I rested today. It’s always good to give your body a day to heal and rest.

Day 48

Saturday, December 20, 2008
Since it was Saturday, and I had a little bit more time, I really pushed myself and ran 20 miles on my treadmill. That’s almost the entire marathon. I’m almost ready!

Day 47

Friday, December 19, 2008
There have been a lot of holiday goodies floating around the office, so I made sure to run 7 miles on my treadmill.

Day 46

Thursday, December 18, 2008
That night I ran five miles on the treadmill.

Thursday, December 18, 2008

Day 45

Wednesday, December 17, 2008
I was not able to run today. It was a very busy day at the office and I had to stay late. I did not find the time. There is so much to do to make sure we are ready for our new campaign and to make sure everything is taken care of before the holidays. I want to make sure everything is perfect!

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Day 44

Tuesday, December 16, 2008
It snowed really hard this morning, so I stayed inside and ran five miles on my treadmill. We also have circuit training classes at Neways, so I’m going try it out and attend one tonight after work.

Monday, December 15, 2008

Day 43

Monday, December 15, 2008
This morning I ran 7 miles outside. I plan to run five more files either at lunch or later this evening.

Day 42

Sunday, December 14, 2008
Like all of my Sunday's before, I rested.

Day 41

Saturday, December 12, 2008
I ran 15 miles inside. It was nice to go for a good, long run.

Day 40

Friday, December 11, 2008
I feel so much better! I know that resting, not running and taking my Neways regimen and drinking my Fountain of Youth really helped me get back on my feet. I was able to run 7 miles on the treadmill and it felt great!

Day 39

Thursday, December 10, 2008
I am feeling a lot better. I don’t want to push it, but I do want to start running again. I ran inside on my treadmill so I wouldn’t be outside in the cold and risk getting sick again. I only did five miles today.

Day 37-38

Tuesday December 9-Wednesday December 10, 2008
I was still really sick. I actually took a sick day and didn’t come into the offices these two days. I cannot remember the last time I took a sick day; it has to have been at least ten years ago-if that tells you anything as to how sick I was. I definitely did not go running these two days. I hate to miss running, especially with the marathon so close, but I know it was best for my health.

Day 36

Monday, December 8, 2008
I woke up to go running but was too sick. The sickness that had started Saturday morning was no full blown.

Day 35

Sunday, December 7, 2008
I had multiple meetings at our Regional Corporate Office in Torrance California. I brought my running gear but did not have time.

Day 34

Saturday, December 6, 2008
I woke up early feeling a little sick. I was still able to run five miles on the treadmill. I had to hurry since I needed to catch a plane to Boise, and then from there to California.

Day 33

Friday, December 5, 2008
We had our corporate fly-in today. Since I need to come in early I was only able to run 7 miles on my treadmill.

Thursday, December 4, 2008

Say cheese!

Here I am with all of my running buddies. It's great to have friends to run with. It also helps to motivate you and push you to do your best when you run with others.

If you look in the background you can see the majestic Utah mountains. We like to do trail runs early in the mornings. It's beautiful! I can't wait to see what scenery Maui has to offer! It will also be nice to run in warmer weather, where you don't have to bundle up so much! Maui here I come!
As you can see we have a lot of fun together!

Day 32

Thursday, December 04, 2008
My shin splints are still there but manageable with lots of ibuprofen and plenty of Fountain of Youth and all my Neways nutritionals! I was still able to run 8 miles on treadmill this morning and do a core workout.

Wednesday, December 3, 2008

Day 31

Wednesday, December 03, 2008
I decided to try running again since it had been three days. It’s still coming along, but I found I was able to do ten miles outside. I have to find a balance of taking care of my shin splints, while still being able to train for the marathon with it coming up so soon! I know by continuing to take my Neways supplements and icing it I will be in peak shape for the marathon.

Day 30

Tuesday, December 2, 2009
I didn’t run again, because I found out that the pain I had been feeling was shin splints. I wanted to give it another day of rest before I started back up again. I’ve also been taking ibuprofen, icing it, and of course taking extra Ming Gold, Glucosamine and Recovery Plus and I’m feeling much better.

Monday, December 1, 2008

Day 29

Monday, December 1, 2008
I did my core work out and then tried to get on the treadmill... I didn't last 2 miles, the pain was still there. I won't push it, and let my body heal.

Day 28

Sunday, November 30, 2008
I made sure to not run and to rest my leg so that it could heal completely.

Day 27

Saturday, November 29, 2008
I ran 20 miles outside. However, towards the end of my run, I could feel this sharp pain along my left tibia. I even had a hard time walking Saturday afternoon. I decided to try and stay off of it so that it could rest fully.

Day 26

Friday, November 28, 2008
I jogged ten miles on the treadmill.

Day 25

Thursday, November 27, 2008 (Thanksgiving)
My daughters and I participated in the Turkey Trot run. I ran a 4 mile run with my daughter Sophie, and then I ran a 1 mile run with daughter Elle. It was great to spend this time with my daughters. I want to pass on a legacy of running, staying in shape and being healthy. It’s a great way to bond with them, and to have a healthy activity we can do together.

Day 15

Monday, November 17, 2008
Today I ran 8 miles outside and then did a core workout. Today at our meeting we had snacks. I indulged and had a handful of peanut butter M&Ms. However, when we went to lunch, I had a salad full of raw vegetables.
I felt so bad about eating the M&M's that in the evening I ran 6 miles inside on my treadmill.

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Day 9

Tuesday, November 11, 2008
I ran inside where it was nice and warm so that I will be ready for Maui's climate. I ran on my treadmill for 10 miles. I then did my core workout.

Day 8

Monday, November 10, 2008
Once a week I'm going to put a challenge or a tip to help you in your quest to get in shape for the Neways Maui Paradise Marathon. I hope you will join me in my new goal:
I want to loose 3 pounds between now and the marathon. This will be especially challenging with all of the holidays and the goodies and overeating that comes with them. I know that by keeping up my running, and including a diet full of high protein, low carbs and Neways nutritionals that I will be able to achieve it. Will you join me?

Also, today I ran 9 miles outside. It was a great way to start off the week. I didn't forget about my core workout and did it right after my run.

Day 7

Sunday, November 9, 2008
I rested. I never run on Sundays. It's good to give your body a day to rest and recuperate from running.

Day 6

Saturday, November8, 2008
I use Saturdays as a chance to run for longer periods of time. Today I ran 14 miles outside. I then followed it up with my regular core workout.

Friday, November 7, 2008

Day 5

Friday, November 7, 2008
I ran inside again to help get myself ready for the Maui climate. I ran seven miles on the treadmill, then I did a series of sit ups and a chest work out to round it off. I of course followed it up with my Neways Daily Regiment.

Thursday, November 6, 2008

Day 4

Thursday, November 6, 2008
To get ready for the climate in Maui I am going to run three days outside and two days inside a heated gym. Today I ran on a treadmill for 7 miles with a high incline. I then did my core work out of a bench press, pulls ups and this time for my abs to switch it up I stayed on the bench, kept my legs straight and brought them to the ceiling (leg raises). I repeated this circuit five times.

Day 3

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

It was snowy and cold again, but I didn't let that stop me. I ran 8 miles again. For my core workout I did a circuit of bench presses, sit ups on the floor and pull ups. I repeated that five times.

Day 2

Tuesday, November 4, 2008
Today I was back home in Utah. It was snowing and I had to run facing the wind and snow. It was basically a blizzard and very cold. I was still able to run 8 miles though and then I did a core workout.

Day 1

Monday, November 3, 2008
I ran a good 12 miles outside along the beach in California. I then followed it up with a core workout of sits ups and push ups.

My fuel

I make sure to take my Neways supplements several times a day to help me stay in shape for the marathon and feel my best. I keep them at my office, so I have access to them all day long.
